OVERVIEW
Sun Pera-Aralan was a program for Sun Life Foundation with the goal of helping public school teachers address their harsh debt problem beyond seminars or training sessions, but through everyday behaviors.
I was given the task of designing a logo for the program and creating the content to promote the prototype, staying rooted in the brand identity of Sun Life Foundation. Taking inspiration from university seals, the logo of the Sun Pera-Aralan program represented the “level up” potential teachers would gain as they learn important habits for proper money management.
PESO SOBRE
The Peso Sobre is a new way of budgeting and spending that is simple enough for teachers to understand, practice, and commit to. Designed with the teachers’ money journey in mind, it is special because it is customized to prompt them to do weekly budgeting instead of traditional line-item budgeting, which many people are used to. To encourage this habit, the Peso Sobre features weekly envelopes within a lockable expanding folder.
PROJECT RESULTS
13 Million Pesos combined savings by teachers in the pilot cohort of four cities within four months of use of the Peso Sobre
68,653 teachers in 816 public schools were reached
82.37% are using the Peso Sobre despite the COVID-19 pandemic
67.10% increase in budget stretching behavior
Organization and mobilization of Faculty Club leaders within the community play a big role in nudging teachers to continue their budgeting habits
