OVERVIEW
The task was to design tools that complement Roots of Health’s aim to prevent teenage pregnancies in Palawan through a) accessible contraceptives and b) lessons on safe sex and consent. The target audience for this project was specifically heterosexual males and females in relationships.
As the lead designer, I moderated the ideation sessions for prototypes from scratch, and handled all creative direction and output for the tools. The behavioral design prototypes for this included 1) the Landi Responsibly sticker pack, 2) Safe At Sarap body map brochure, and 3) Girl Power planner.
Teenagers tend to feel embarrassed or shy when discussing these topics, so the design focuses on approachability and clarity, while still looking visually appealing for their generation.

LEARNINGS
My key takeaway was the use of design for intimacy. This was challenging as it had to look subtle and yet sensual. I explored the use of floral images and brought out the emotions through the color palette which stayed loyal to the brand colors of Roots of Health.
The tools created for Roots of Health embodied behavioral design principles–such as salience, nudges, and gamification–which I also had to take into consideration when forming the creative direction.
This project provided me with a wide range of design experience in both digital and print, and how to make this mixed medium enticing for our younger audience to use throughout the campaign.
